LightForce braces use customized brackets that are each 3D printed for your individual teeth. This allows for:

When you visit Dr. Bolin and our team for your complimentary consultation in Wilton, CT, we’ll perform a comprehensive orthodontic evaluation, taking into account your digital x-rays and images, to create your personalized treatment plan.
If you choose LightForce braces for your smile journey, Dr. Bolin will use LightForce software to design your personalized treatment plan and send it off to our LightForce partners for 3D printing.
Your 3D printed braces will have built-in programming to guide your teeth accordingly into their beautiful new positions over the coming months!
LightForce braces are the only types of braces that are completely customized to your smile. The increased comfort, reduced treatment time and completely custom fit of LightForce braces are unique to LightForce.
How do they measure up against other forms of orthodontic treatment?
- Traditional metal brackets come in standard sizes for specific teeth and sit flat on each tooth. LightForce brackets are custom-designed for each tooth.
- LightForce brackets are smaller than regular braces and come in a tooth-colored shade that contours to the unique shape of your individual teeth. Metal braces use metal brackets with colored rubber bands to transform teeth; needless to say, metal braces are more noticeable than LightForce braces.
Invisalign® and 3M Clarity clear aligners are still an incredibly popular option for orthodontic treatment. LightForce braces and clear aligners are both highly-effective, custom-made treatments, but it all comes down to your personal preferences.
LightForce braces aren’t as invisible as clear aligners, but these braces do blend in seamlessly with your smile. Clear aligners are removable, and LightForce is not.
However, clear aligners do require a certain level of compliance. It’s important that you wear your clear aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day for them to be effective.
If you’re worried about staying committed to wearing your aligners day and night, LightForce braces may suit you better.
